Laurel Park's 25th Ram Sale - 2020
The sale was well attended and took place on 10-Sep-2020, seeing two of the 60 rams on offer sell for $3600 each.
Wool merchants have complimented us this year on how well our sheep have stood up to the earlier dry and dusty conditions, maintaining a very well nourished lock due to the staple structure of the fleece.
Demand for sheep from the Laurel Park bloodline remains particularly strong at West Wyalong sales, where they regularly achieve top prices.
The stud flock is classed by Rick Power from Nutrien Ag Solutions.
Our Story
The Buttenshaw family of 'Laurel Park' purchased both the horned and poll stud from 'Billabong' in 1974.
Since that time, a careful selection of outside bloodlines have been introduced with the prime objective of increasing wool cuts while still maintaining the wool quality and softness. High fertility has always been a top feature of Laurel Park sheep.
Bill Buttenshaw (pictured) says "We pride ourselves on providing a professional and reliable customer service, plus we use a modern, informed approach to stud management".
In January 2017, Bill was joined by another member of the Buttenshaw family Tristan Buttenshaw, who is now an integral part of the Laurel Park team.
